The Intuitive Side of Project Management: Why I Charge What I Charge

Today, while working on a client’s project plan, I had to take a 15–20 minute break to sit in the sun and recharge. It wasn’t burnout (that never happens over here! 💅🏾) It was clarity. I was deep in my rhythm, organizing everything they needed in a PM tool they use called Notion, and it suddenly hit me, this is exactly why people need project managers/strategists

My client hired me to help set up and streamline their project management system. They have active projects, closed projects, leads, and a bunch of contractors, and they needed someone who truly cares about details, someone who could build a workflow from scratch and make it make sense. That’s my wheelhouse. I can build a project management system with my eyes closed, but this time, it wasn’t just about organizing tasks — it was about realizing the value behind what I do.

If you’ve ever used Notion, you know how flexible and customizable it is. It’s fun if you enjoy structure and details, but it can be tedious for people who just want to get things done.

That’s where I come in.

This client isn’t super tech-savvy, so my job was to make something simple, intuitive, and foolproof — the kinds of touches that make them feel confident using it. From the icons and cover pages to the onboarding doc, the “how-to” guides, and automations. I was designing it with intention, empathy, and a deep understanding of who my client is.

Sitting there at the computer, tailoring every detail just right, I remembered why project managers deserve the big bucks. We’re not just checking boxes or setting timelines — we’re creating systems that feel personal, that keep things in order so others can focus on what they do best. The creatives bring the vision to life, but without someone beside them building the foundation, things would fall apart fast.

I always say this work goes beyond being an assistant or an organizer. It’s intuitive work. It’s knowing your client’s rhythm, understanding their friction points, and turning that into a flow that feels natural to them. People come to me overwhelmed; they leave with clarity, and that’s not because of fancy templates or software tricks. It’s because I listen.

And that brought me back to this simple truth: this is why I charge what I do. Because what I create isn’t just a tool, it’s peace of mind. It’s confidence. It’s balance. The people who love to keep things in order so others don’t have to? We’re not just helpful. We’re essential.

So when you’re ready to get organized — and I mean truly organized — book a free 15-minute call here. I bet I’ll know exactly what you need within the first ten minutes of our conversation.
